Virginias Growth Management Tools
Patterns of Suburban Growth
The Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association is pleased to provide two reports relating to growth in Virginia.
Patterns of Suburban Growth
Produced in October, 2000, "Patterns of Suburban Growth" is the latest in a ongoing series of informational reports dealing with Virginia growth issues. Using illustrations, it explains how Virginias suburbs have traditionally evolved, and offers recommendations to address suburban sprawl.
Virginias Growth Management Tools
This latest update of "Virginia's Growth Management Tools" was released by VAPA in January, 2002. It provides a brief description of planning tools currently authorized under Virginia State Code and how they are used. In addition, tools that are not authorized but have been submitted for consideration by the General Assembly are also included. The objective is to provide an easy-to-understand reference manual to be used by legislators, elected and appointed officials, planners, and other interested groups.
Both these reports are considered works in progress and will be updated periodically to ensure the contents are accurate and timely. If you have any information you want to contribute, please e-mail Glenn Larson at [email protected].
