The Town of Leesburg is seeking a strong and innovative director to manage the Department of Planning, Zoning and Development (16-member staff). DUTIES: This is a professional planning position performing current planning duties as part of a comprehensive and progressive planning team. DUTIES: Enforce zoning and property maintenance regulations and issue zoning inspection permits. Perform field inspections to determine compliance with the Towns zoning regulations and property maintenance code in response to complaints and as part of routine monitoring of the Town. Achieve compliance with zoning regulations and property maintenance code through written and verbal communication with property owners, tenants, managers and business owners. The Chesterfield County Planning Department has an immediate opening for a student intern. This intern will gain valuable experience working on planning projects in a rapidly developing suburban environment. While duties will vary, the principal project the intern will work on involves working with the Department's Geographic Information System (ArcView GIS) to research zoning cases. Knowledge of ArcView a plus.

Graduate and undergraduate students studying planning, urban affairs or public administration are encouraged to apply.
